Lacey's pluriPlus 3D
Media optimised to help pluripotent cells - particularly porcine induced pluripotent stem cells (piPSCs) - maintain their pluripotent state during expansion in suspension (3D) culture conditions
Stem cells - particularly induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)- have great potential as a starting source for translational cell line models, and cell manufacturing processes. Many applications suggest that iPSCs be expanded in aggregate or embroid body formats in suspension culture conditions (3D) for either specific process steps. However, maintaining iPSC's pluripotency or 'stemness' in 3D culture conditions to avoid spontaneous differentiation or cell death is challenging.
During the development of our suspension adapted piPSC line, we found maintaining pluripotency to compound in difficulty as we increased the working volumes of our cell cultures. So, we developed a variant of Lacey's PluriPlus - the aptly named Lacey's PluriPlus 3D - specifically to help our piPSCs maintain their pluripotency during prolonged culture in 3D culture systems.
Lacey's PluriPlus 3D is serum free, chemically defined and supports the scale up of iPSCs as aggregates in 3D suspension culture.
